Our most successful Associates ( i.e. those with highest percentage of lots sold, highest gross incomes, and highest number of lots selling above market estimates) tend to follow a consistent strategy: secure a good consignment? use conservative estimates? have plenty of good, clear photographs that show the best and the worst about the object ..... be detailed in your condition report..... start the bidding well under the low estimate? and promote the sale well.

General Guidelines:

• The market determines value, not you and not the consignor.
• Create interest by using a low starting bid/reserve. Buyers want to think they have found a deal - or a sleeper.
• Once someone bids on a lot they feel a sense of ownership, then they fight for what they believe is rightfully theirs. This is where multiple bidders create momentum and prices are driven upward.
